AIDGwinnett, a not for profit organization, was founded in 1990 in Gwinnett County by a grassroots group of concerned volunteers and parents dealing with family members and friends living with HIV.
They were driven to provide supportive services and prevention education. During 1993, as the caseload continued to grow, the agency expanded its services to include Rockdale and Newton Counties. To date, AIDGwinnett has assisted over 900 clients and their families. The agency has a 14 member staff, 250 active volunteers, a 13 member Board of Directors and a $1.3M budget to provide supportive services and HIV prevention education.
Volunteers continue to lead the fight even today. Each year, volunteers donate over 7,000 hours of service with an in-kind value in excess of $100,000.
Mission Statement:
AIDGwinnett is a community-based agency organized
to respond with compassion and sensitivity
to the HIV/AIDS epidemic through advocacy,
education and collaboration with other agencies.
